LIFE in the Community

All six of the LIFE offices are active in the communities they serve. LIFE staff and Board members are involved in systems advocacy, community empowerment and seeking equal access for everyone. They serve on various boards and committees, such as:

* The Statewide Independent Living Council

* The Americans with Disabilities Act Advisory Council for the city of Jackson

* The Arc of Mississippi

* The Council on Developmental Disability

* The At Risk Task Force for Emergency Preparedness

In addition, we provide training and spend time in our communities participating in many events -

The 10th Annual Bridging the Gap was a great success! The walk was held on Saturday, September 24th over the historic Mississippi River bridge.  We had a great turn out in the community and volunteer support.  





Several LIFE Staff Members attended the Annual Conference of the Rehabilitation Association of Mississippi in October 2015 AND

LIFE of Mississippi's Dwight Owens, ADA Consultant in the Hattiesburg office, was the closing ceremony speaker!!




ADA 25th ANNIVERSARY EVENT!                                                                                                                                       





The JOURNEY OF HOPE was held on Saturday, July 18th. Over 150 individuals with disabilities had the opportunity to fly!!

Participating in the Annual Walk for MS and the MDA Muscle Walk!
